Sabres probably going to trade Kane need to keep ennis for possible offense projections. I hope moulson is the deal for them to take don't want to loose bogo. We have no toughness in the back end. They can take ullmark if peterson comes through as well

There are 2 reasons that Ennis was protected and Carrier wasn't:

1. The Sabres have a deal with Vegas; something like, Buffalo leaves Carrier unprotected so they don't select Ullmark.

2. The Sabres don't have anyone to play on a top-6 LW line. Nylander is projected to be a top-6 LWer, but may not be ready. Even if he is, they still need someone else who can potentially play there. So maybe they are putting a few chips (not all of them) in the Tyler Ennis basket, hoping he can find his game again. Don't forget, this is the first off season for JB, and is trying to clean up the mess that TM left for him. So it's going to take some time to turn this ship around.

Of course, both of those reasons could be completely wrong, and they have a deal where Vegas takes Bogosian, or Moulson.

Have a little faith in JB. People get too bent out of shape before they know all the facts.

Garth has an obsession with trading Kane. Typical post begins with listing his awesome stats (5v5 goals) and noting his fearsome presence on the ice. Each time but conveniently avoiding his history of injuries, his off ice issues and the fact he is one year away from being a UFA. The post then turns to listing the awesome young D men Kane will be traded for.

Most recently,

Vlasic? Why would the Sharks trade a top pairing, Team Canada D man for Kane?
Montour? Sure the Ducks will trade a cheap, young D man for Kane? They'd also need to move more salary out to fit Kane on the roster. Still need to sign Fowler
Tanev? Why would the rebuilding Canucks trade their biggest trade chip for anything other than futures? Picks or young players. Kane is neither.
Brodin? Sure the Wild expose Scandella and Dumba, but then trade Brodin? That only makes sense on Garth's world
Muzzin? See Vlasic

If Kane is so gosh darn good, they should try to resign him because, in the real world, they will never get the type of assets they gave up to get him, in return
